Want something to make with all your leftover Easter Eggs? Assuming you didn’t eat them all in 10 minutes like I did….
Here’s a quick and easy recipe to make an Easter Egg Caramel Slice. Delicious!!!
Easter Egg Slice
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups plain flour, sifted
1/3 cup caster sugar
80grams butter, chopped
1 egg yolk
500 grams Mini Easter Eggs (I used 2 packets)
395gm tin sweetened condensed milk
Method:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius
Grease a slab pan and line with baking paper – I didn’t have any baking paper, so I lined the whole thing with alfoil and lightly sprayed the pan.
Mix together flour sugar & butter until mixture resembles bread crumbs.
Add egg yolk & 2 table spoons cold water. Mix until ingredients almost come together.
You could do this in a food processor much easier – however I still don’t have one..
Using clean hands press mixture into the base of the pan.
Bake for 15 minutes until golden and set aside to cool.
Unwrap Easter eggs & place over the base to cover. Drizzle with condensed milk.
Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the edges are golden & the centre is firm.
Allow slice to cool completely in the pan and cut into pieces.
The best part is you don’t have to use plain eggs!! You could use crunchie eggs, caramel eggs, cream eggs, a mixture of all, big and small eggs! The possibilities are endless.
